{#126} gold & champagne

{season} winter
{colors} gold, black & champagne
{description} i couldn't end the year without one more inspiration board. this new years wedding is a bit more glamorous but still has the simple sophistication that i love. gold is used frequently throughout the wedding in the candle sticks, silverware, bouquet and noisemakers. there is no need for signature drinks, champagne is all you need.

{trends} kraft paper

i'm kinda disappointed with myself for not checking out {pinterest} for gift packaging ideas earlier. but, i noticed a common trend - kraft paper! not only is it really cool and a huge roll can be used for many occasions but it's also eco-friendly and you can dress it up any way you want... with yarn, buttons and ribbon.  if you want to skimp on the tag completely, just stamp the name of the recipient on the front.
don't you love that?

and if you really want to have a eco-friendly holiday..visit your local trader joe's where their holiday shopping bags can be reused as gift wrap and tags.  love!

photo memories

 family is very important to me and one of my favorite things to do during christmas is look through old family photographs. the pictures are always the highlight of the night. we laugh at our embarrassing school pictures, dad's wardrobe in the 70s and reminisce on the good ol' days. well, for this year i'm going to do something a little different. i'm going to select a few new and old photos and display them in glass jars and scatter them on my table as a centerpiece.
i also love these ideas from {sweet paul}. family photo wrapping paper, gift tags and personalized cupcakes are also great ideas for decorating during the holidays.

 what is your favorite thing to do during your holiday dinner?

{table} a very simple christmas

i know there are a few procrastinators out there that haven't even thought about decorating but have no fear i found this lovely holiday table on {hooray designs & lifestyle}. by incorporate your white table linens, napkins and candles from your everyday living and adding a few festive touches like simple ornaments, greenery and berries creates this gorgeous table.
wrapped caramels in mini white planter pots makes for adorable guest favors...
a $9 bouquet of hypericum berries went a long way in this tablescape and added just the right amount of color.

{shoot} winter brides

did you ever look back at your wedding pictures and wanted a redo? well i recently received this session from krystal over at {krystal muellenberg photography} of two sisters jessica {married for five years} and angie {married for two years} that did just that. here’s what jessica had to say about why she wanted a redo  " for fun, and because i hate the way i looked in my wedding pics...i felt like i was too "done up", and i didn't look like myself....i feel like these are much more "me" ...and i wanted to get cool pics at my wedding and { 1.} we didn’t have much time and { 2.} we couldn't afford a professional photographer. so when krystal said she would do these..... we jumped on the chance!"
jessica wearing maggie sottero brought along some props for the photo shoot...

angie who wore mori lee had a swinging good time in the barn...

{friday faves} mercury glass

happy friday!!
i'm completely smitten with mercury glass especially during the holiday season {if you didn't notice i included them in a couple of inspiration boards here, here, over there, this one, that one and oh one more}.  mercury glass is great way to add some sparkle to your decor and has a vintage and distressed feel to it too! you typically see mercury glass in a silvery tone but there are colored mercury glass - pink, gold, green and blue.

1. mercury glass vases {eva lindh} |  2. mercury glass ornaments {country living}
3. mercury glass candlesticks {french larkspur} |  4. mercury glass pots {finders keepers market inc}
5. antique mercury glass hurricane lamps {pottery barn} |  6. mercury glass knobs {anthropologie}
7. pink & gold mercury glass votives {martha stewart weddings}
8. blue mercury glass votives {life in the fun lane} |  9. green mercury glass tablescape {elizabeth anne design}

are you a fan of mercury glass too? which one do you prefer the traditional or colored ones?

don't forget to enter my necktie  giveaway {here}
