SIGNATURE SIP | Peach Julep

I can almost here the horses trotting with this Derby inspired cocktail.
PEACH JULEP
INGREDIENTS
3 fresh mint leaves
1 tsp sugar
1 oz bourbon
2 oz peach schnapps
2 slices lime
Sparkling water
Crushed ice
Peach slices (optional garnish)
INSTRUCTIONS
Muddle mint and sugar together in a tall glass. Add bourbon and peach schnapps. Squeeze juice out of lime slices and toss the lime slices in the glass. Add crushed ice and top with sparkling water. Garnish with peach slices.

#239 | Sweet Derby Inspiration Board
The Kentucky Derby is kicking off in a couple of days and I will admit that this isn't my first Derby inspired wedding board. If you're interested you can see the old ones here, here, here and here. Today's board showcases a palette with refreshing and a little surprising. The combination of the bold teal with the delicate peach make it one of my favorites.

I have to admit I'm a little skeptical of carrots in my cocktail but it is the "sweeter" vegetable that I can convince myself that it's pretty genius idea for a cocktail...and not to mention a little bourbon never hurt.

CREATE | Carrot Boutonniere
I couldn't resist this sweet DIY craft and I had to share it. These adorable carrot boutonnieres are whimsical and fun for your littlest bridal party member.
INSTRUCTIONS
Cut your felt into a small 3×3 inch square
Wrap felt around stuffing into a cone shape and secure with hot glue
Push stuffing down and cut off excess felt on the top, making sure you have a tiny bit left to pinch
Stuff the greenery into the top of the “carrot” and pinch closed
Secure the pinch with a tiny rubber band (we used a toddler girls one)
Wrap your velvet around the carrot top and tie in a knot (we glued ours down as well)
Now just safety pin to your dapper little guy’s shirt!

SIGNATURE SIP | Floral Fizz

FLORAL FIZZ
INGREDIENTS
2 oz lavender infused vodka
½ oz elderflower liqueur
½ oz fresh squeezed/strained lemon juice
½ oz hibiscus syrup
¼ oz IPA syrup
3-5 drops rosewater
1 egg white
INSTRUCTIONS
For the lavender infused vodka, add 2 tbsp dried culinary lavender to 1 cup of vodka. Cover and let sit for three hours, stirring occasionally. Strain through a fine mesh sieve lined with cheesecloth or a nut milk bag and store in the fridge. For the hibiscus syrup, add 1 tbsp hibiscus tea (dried hibiscus leaves) to 1 cup of very hot water. Let stand for 5 minutes, then add 1 cup sugar and stir until combined. Let cool and store in the fridge. For the IPA syrup, add equal parts (ideally by weight -- use a kitchen scale) IPA beer and sugar in a blender, then blend of high until combined. Store in fridge. For the cocktail, add all to a shaker with one ice cube, and shake in an oval-like motion until the ice completely dissolves (when you don't hear it rattling inside any more). Pour without a strainer into a large coupe.
