{in the studio with} lemon & lavender design

Name/Company:
Ashley La Rue of Lemon and Lavender Design
Location:
Tampa Bay, Florida
How many years have you been in the wedding industry?
I am a newbie :)  I've been obsessed with weddings since I was a child but I didn't officially open my shop until a year ago.

How did you get started?
When I made the leap to start my own business I knew a blog was the first step then I emailed everyone I knew asking if they needed wedding invitations.  Luckily, I had several friends getting married and it was a great way to build my portfolio!
Where do you go for inspiration?
Love pinterest and tumblr for gorgeous images for the blog but when I begin the design process with a bride I really look to little details in her wedding.  I ask about her dress, cake, venue, etc.  I think it's paramount to creating a unique piece that truly tells a story for the couples wedding day.

What's your signature style?
I love vintage but I also love mixing my traditional vintage flare with modern elements.  I think it's a perfect marriage of design :)
What’s your favorite spot of your studio?
Since my studio is really only my desk I would have to say that my favorite spot is right at my mac with an espresso in hand :)

Do you have a current favorite color palette or wedding trend?
I am really in love with peach, coral, mint, and muted yellows.  Love all the pretty pastels this spring.
Where do you see your business in 5 years?
My business has grown so much over the last year I really couldn't ask for more!  I have been truly blessed with amazing opportunities and wonderful clients but I would love to see the ready-made line of invitations become a staple in the wedding industry.

Finish this sentence
“I can’t live without…” my delonghi ;) I make a pretty amazing Americano.

She's supportive, kind, and is always ready to jump in and be a part of the bigger picture. I'm so happy to have "met" her and I'm so glad you gave us a little insight on her life, Chris.
