{real wedding} anna + magnus swedish nuptials

Happy Wedding Wednesday! I have a sweet and stylish Swedish wedding that was held in the heart of Stockholm. The couple married in the Anglican Church built in 1863, took a boat ride (with lots of bubbly and canapés) to the Museum of Contemporary Art, where the reception was held. The Swedish bridal couple currently lives in Hong Kong and had gathered friends and family from four continents to celebrate their wedding day.
From Anna, the bride: We met 7 years ago in Umeå, my hometown. I was living in London and went home for a holiday to see friends and family, met Magnus who was studying to complete his degree and we have been inseparable ever since.
Karolina Danielson did my hair and make up in the morning of our wedding day. The groom and his best men stayed behind at the hotel room at Grand Hotel. It was really important for the groom not to see each other before the wedding ceremony on the wedding day and he had of course not seen the dress before. The moment we saw each other in church was very emotional for us both.
We pretty much filled up the whole church, Stockholm Anglican Church with approx 120 seats.
Some of our guests managed to get lost during the short walk between the church and the boat. When they were walking over the bridge on their way, another bunch of wedding guests crossed their path and about 20 guests simply followed them to another wedding reception. Some even helped themselves and got drinks before realising it was the wrong wedding reception!
The Modern Museum was chosen because of its superb location with a panorama view over Stockholm, selected partly because of all the international guests. This also inspired the choice of menu with canapés with something Spanish (Magnus’ heritage) and northern Swedish ingredients (my heritage). The starter was made of Västerbotten cheese, a typical Swedish delicacy, the main course was blackened reindeer, something a lot of the guests had never tried before and the dessert had cloudberries, also a typical northern Swedish ingredient.
I was completely blown away when I saw the beautiful photos.  Annevi had managed to capture even the tiniest moments of affection between us. Never had I imagined that the photographs would be able to show just all the love that we felt on our special day. To me, all of the photos are truly work of art and the memories we now have from our wedding day is beyond what we ever expected. The minute she joined us in the morning it became obvious that she is passionate about her work. She is creative and had such a positive energy through out the whole day. She got amazing snaps of guests without them even noticing her presences.
One of the best memories from the wedding day was to have all of our family and friends from different stages in our lives gathered. It was truly special for us.
