Bring Love Letters back to 2017

A love letter is a treasure...it really is. Nowadays we only communicate with email, texts or a quick emoji but nothing compares to a hand written note especially on your wedding day.  There is nothing I adore more than couples who write each other a love letter guaranteeing tears of joy and laughter before exchanging vows.

{good eats} bundt cakes

This is another great example on how couple's are thinking outside the box when it comes to their wedding cake.  Skip all the fondant and buttercream and go for a bundt cake instead.  These cakes come in different designs and are simply beautiful with just a light drizzle of glaze or dusting of powder sugar. Either way they can be stacked on a pretty tower or sitting on a simple cake plate making for one gorgeous and unexpected wedding cake alternative.

{friday faves} paper fans

Happy Friday friends!
Did you spot the cute paper fans in Kelly + Ira's wedding on Monday?  They are pretty genius, right?  Paper fan are the perfect addition to any outdoor ceremony for keeping your guests cool.  What I love most about them, is how graphic they are with their pretty font, whimsical caricatures and how they can double up as a wedding program too!

{friday faves} window shutters

Happy Friday Friends!!
I was glad to read that you all love vintage windows as much as I do. This week is more of a continuation of last week because it's all about window shutters inspiration. Here in the States they're usually nailed down and serve no purpose besides decoration while in Europe they actually use them on a daily basis.
So let's bring some function back to shutters, shall we? I love them as a backdrop for a dessert table, displaying photos or simply tucking the escort cards between the slats. But the best part is after the wedding you can hang them on your wall at home and use them as a message board.

{couples} kasey + john

Can there be anything better than frolicing through gorgeous fields and having your husband sing while you dance. Nope... I don't think so! Especially when Dani from {Dani Stephenson Photography} is there to capture it all.  Here's what Dani had to say about the shoot... "Kasey and John were married in Omaha, NE. Their wedding was amazing but like most weddings, there was a time schedule we had to stick to. So when they returned to Wisconsin for a visit we got together for a "month after session". These sessions are so much fun as we pretty much jumped in a vehicle and drove around to find new spots like the car on the side of the road. Kasey and John were up for ANYTHING and almost jumped into a flooded cranberry bog but we decided the dress would drown her. "
I am a natural light photographer, I love the outdoors, I love fields, natural colors. So I knew when we planned the session where I wanted to go and what I wanted to do. I was so happy with the end result and Kasey and John are the perfect subjects, I love that they added Johns guitar, he's an amazing musician.
I personally like these month after sessions because I get a better reaction from the bride and groom, more real and authentic. Like most weddings, everyone gets all gussy-ed up and the month after sessions the hair is down and natural, no veil, no painful shoes, no guests to please, no tuxedos, it's more about them. Most brides do not have time for certain photos or want to get their dress dirty on the wedding day, I dislike the term "trash the dress" as I would never encourage actually trashing it, just doing things in it that maybe you would be afraid to on your wedding day.

{shoot} vintage romance in the woods

Sorry for the late post friends!
I couldn’t resist sharing this shoot with you on this fine Monday morning. It has everything you would ever want for a romantic picnic style wedding in the woods.  A soothing color palette, a mixture of different styles and texture and a crystal chandelier hangs from a tree for a touch of glam.
Orange dahlias, white hydrangeas and English garden roses look lovely resting on a vintage cake stand...

{day after} kaitlyn + ty

I was so happy to see this day after shoot in my inbox.  If you recall I featured Kaitlyn + Ty's engagement back in November and I'm so happy to have them back on P&P for their day after shoot. The exchanged vows back in March but unfortunately their wedding started a bit late and Ruthie was unable to get some bride & groom shots. So they decided to have a day after session to ensure that they had pictures of them together!
