#229 | Vintage Love Letters

I love going back and revisiting past inspiration boards and see if I can update them.  Today I was inspired by  this board that I created a few years ago and added a vintage feel with the beautiful palette and soft petal roses.  The incorporation of the love letters makes this board timeless.

I've been working with the color palette for quite sometime and I have to say that I'm so happy with the end result.  I love how the deep poppy red doesn't compete the softness of the light blue.  It's a beautiful airy board perfect for this time of year.

I first shared this board on Branco Prata's blog but since it's one of my favorite Valentine boards, I just had to repost it here on P&P.  I'm the first to admit I'm not the biggest lover of red but there's no escaping it this time of year.  I wanted to keep everything pretty light and airy and only showcase the ruby red in details. How much do you love that bird's eye view of that table? Pretty awesome right? I love that black confetti!

Wow I can't believe that Christmas is almost here. Is it me or did time fly really fast this year? I'm not the biggest fan of red {unless we're talking about my favorite soccer team} but when it comes to my wardrobe or decor, to me a little red goes a long way.  Sprinkle in some hints on rich emerald green and you have yourself one festive winter wedding.

{description} I was first inspired to create this board a few months, I've tweaked and played with it for a while hoping to find the perfect images. I love the idea of using unexpected elements in weddings and today's lucky feature are radishes. They are the perfect shade of reddish/pink that can be seen on the centerpieces and linens. Consider using cute illustration of this root vegetable for the stationery, while adding real radishes to the bridal bouquet is an unique touch that certainly won't go unnoticed.

{description} It must be summer because I'm craving some good old fashion BBQ and with Fourth of July fastly approaching wouldn't a BBQ themed be so appropriate? I choose a bright palette of primary colors to add a touch of kitsch to the event especially if your going to have a big event such as a wedding or a birthday party during a holiday weekend why not allow your guest to kick back and relax.

{description} i’m beginning to steer away from winter inspiration boards because quite frankly i’m done with this gloomy weather and i’m wishing for those perfect sunny days where you can just sit back and soak up the warm weather. most garden weddings usually soft and pink but i wanted a deeper, richer color for this board. when i first encountered that image of the red skirt i was immediately drawn to it. what a great alternative look for bridesmaids? they can definitely be worn again and again after the wedding day and brides why not forget the veil altogether and sport a gorgeous sun hat instead.

{description} ahh the great outdoors...who doesn't love being surrounded by birch trees, the mountains and fresh air. it makes for a perfect setting for a rustic winter wedding. try to keep from using a ton of fresh flowers due to the chilly weather instead use pine cones, candles and lanterns for your decor.

yesterday i had the pleasure to guest post on {it's party time}. just in case you missed it, here is the final installment of the winter bloom series.

{description} who doesn't LOVE the vibrant color of winter berries...they are so festive. this board has me dreaming of an intimate wedding with gorgeous view of  snow capped mountains. if you want to recreate that charming bouquet, simply tie a pretty ribbon around the "stem" and for a simple tablescape, run the berries down the middle of the table with white votive candles and silver jingle bells tucked within.

did anyone guess amaryllis as the next bloom? if you did {ding ding} your correct!

aren’t amaryllis such an elegant and romantic bloom? i just love the deep crimson color of this specific hybrid. it’s warm and rich and perfect for a rustic winter wedding. keeping the presentation of these blooms simple is key...a simple glass vase will allow the bulbs and dirt to show and will add personality to your table along side these gorgeous stacked old leather back books.  amaryllis also has quite a legend behind them...a young shepherdess wanted the attention of her true love so she pierced her own heart to create the red flower. whoa!

{description} for this inspiration board i want to step away from the typical orange and black combo that is usually associated with halloween. i chose a richer color palette of candy apple red with hints of  purple and black. even though there is no pumpkin in sight you still get the feel of a darker but sexier halloween wedding especially when you sprinkled in some of the elements of the holiday like the spooky candy apples for you and your guests to munch as a midnight snack.

{description} oh how i ♥ autumn.. who doesn't love a season that brings us such warm and comforting colors into our lives. pairing the spicy cinnamon with the light peach is perfect for any wedding taking place in the beginning of autumn where it "feels" like fall but the temperatures are still relatively warm.
