After seeing today's wedding, you'll understand why I can't get enough of Portugal or BrancoPrata for that matter. Patricia + Hugo wanted something different from the typical Portuguese weddings. They set out for a classic style with influences from the 20's. Their wedding took place in Hotel de Charme Quinta do Pinheiro a charming hotel near Porto . Patricia pinned her grandmother’s brooch onto her bridal bouquet and created her necklace by combining her mothers and grandmother’s pearls.
The mother of the bride handmade all of the flower girl's dresses while the ring box was borrowed from Patricia's sister in law.
The escort cards were inspired by a wedding seen in Martha Stewart Weddings some years ago. Each table had the name of the country and Hugo, the groom created a design that incorporated an iconic element of that same country... for instance, for Portugal he chose Amalia {one of the country's beloved Fado singer}
Patricia wanted a sweets table and they decided to display all the delicious sweets on a gorgeous vintage piece from the venue.
The couple left cards out for their guests to answer, afterward they would attach them to the frames with miniature clothespins.
"What's your best wedding advice?"
"Do you have any funny memories about us?"
"Where should we celebrate our 10th anniversary?"
"What should be name our children?"
Later on the groom gathered up some fellow musicians and played an impromptu concert at the wedding. From the pictures, it looks like it was a good show.
