This elegant and intimate wedding was captured by Sarah of {Sarah Vaughan Photography}. Bridget was kind enough to let us in on her wedding day. "We took the inspiration for our design from the things we love to do when we travel: visiting art galleries and seeing live music! Friends and family helped us scan tickets stubs from concerts and post cards of art we’d seen and mixed in crystals and mirrors and hung them with ribbon and silver wire to create a lovely, whimsical backdrop of color … in terms of the dress , I knew I loved a vintage feel with a modern twist and I think our designer created the perfect mix! Lastly, our honeymoon planned for France and Italy inspired touches in our décor from toile and ‘Paris of the 20’s’ with our peacock feathers!"
The decorations were made from postcards taken from the various art galleries the couple visited; the place cards for the dinner reception featured various musical concert stubs the couple attended over the years.
Their favorite part of the day (aside from the yes’s!) was the steady stream of smiles and laughs with their guests. It felt like a charmed day and was so very gratifying for us both.
Any advice? "The advice Mike and I would give would be to develop a bit of a goal for the day and stick to it. Our goal: “The wedding and celebration will be simple and elegant”. Whenever a new choice came along or something we hadn’t considered fell into our laps, we’d asked ourselves “are we making this too complex?” if the answer was “yes”, we took it off our list. It instantly relived our stress and we could proceed with the next set of activities. The details we spent extra time on: the vows / ceremony plan, the song list and the seating plans."
