PRETTY DETAILS | Irish Wedding Traditions

Good morning friends! I hope you enjoyed yesterday's inspiration board.  Today I wanted to share with you some of my favorite Irish traditions and you could incorporate in your own wedding.

WILDFLOWERS
Irish brides would often carry a bouquet of wildflowers during their big day.

HAND-FASTING
Couples would clasp their hands together and a cord would be wrapped around them to symbolize unity in marriage while exchanging vows...literary they're "tying the knot"

BELL RINGING
They believed by ringing bells that it will bring harmony to the marriage and ward off any evil spirits.

Let the sound of bells ring with every step you take down the aisle.

Mini cow bells make for cute place card accessories.

Or have one big cow bell... ring for a kiss.

HORSESHOES
Irish brides would carry horseshoes upright for good luck.  After the wedding the horseshoe would be hung up in their home to preserve the luck.
