{guest post} vintage wedding inspiration from blush printables

Hi everyone! I'm so excited to have a guest post today on Postcards and Pretties! My name is Jen, and I'm the owner of Blush Printables -- and online stationery boutique specializing in printable stationery for the do-it-yourself bride. Be sure to hop on over to my blog and say hi!

There is something glamorous about a vintage wedding. They are soft and romantic, and a timeless way to celebrate your new lives together.

Here are a few inspiration boards to help get you started.
flowers (unknown), save the date card wiley valentine, jewelery jihan abdalla photography, shoes + pearls jihan abdalla photography, lace dress lori paladino photography
seaunicorn on etsy, gold cuff romancing the bling on etsy, couple sarah yates photography, hair comb romancing the bling on etsy, cake (unknown)
These gold and pink inspired collages use a mixture of soft floral designs, lace attire and shimmering jewels. Using gold throughout the inspiration board is the perfect way to showcase metallic colors while still maintaining a soft, romantic style. Soft pinks and blues are added for a hint of color, while a chocolate color adds a bit of depth. Bold calla lily bouquets paired with ostrich feathers are sure to make a statement and look perfect paired with a lace gown.

Your stationery sets the tone for your wedding, so it’s important that your Save the Date cards reflect the vintage style that you’re trying to achieve.

Here’s a {free printable Save the Date card} for you to download.

{guest post} s'more bar from dandelion & grey

Good Morning! I'm Erin from Dandelion & Grey and I am so excited to be guest posting on Postcards & Pretties today! Thank you, Chris, for having me!

Today I will be sharing a DIY S'more Bar I created that could be perfect for dessert after a rehearsal dinner or even in lieu of wedding cake at a sweet, casual backyard or beach wedding!

To house the goodies, I used two darling chicken-wire baskets, purchased at Farmhouse Wares, filled to the brim with marshmallows and graham crackers. To create variety, offer multiple kinds of chocolate for your guests to create their s'mores. Hershey's is classic and budget-friendly, but you could also use imported chocolates from a specialty store. Provide simple wooden skewer sticks, placed in a vintage glass jar & head out to the fire pit!

For a charming favor, fill a wicker market bag with a summer scarf and a s'more for the road!

{guest post} clara + igor's portuguese wedding from brancoprata

Hi everybody!!
- I'm Sofia!
- And I'm André!
- And together we are Brancoprata!! We are so thrilled to be guest posting here on Postcards and Pretties today! So we decided to bring you one of our real weddings!

Clara and Igor were married last June in Ovar, Portugal. They planned a relaxed and easy going wedding together with their friends and family! In fact one of their close friends was the DJ that took the party to another level!

Our favorite thing about this wedding is Clara's dress... what an AMAZING piece designed by Storytailors (a Portuguese fashion designers duo)! They did an outstanding job and Clara's personality was so well transformed in a dress... if that's even possible!!

A friend of theirs designed all stationery using white and baby blue.
As favors we decided to make some small bags that guests could use to take home all the flowers from the centerpieces.
This cute couple was so happy the entire day, always laughing and dancing! They have such a good vibe that you are always smiling when you are with them!

{guest post} outdoor library wedding from luna & chloe weddings

I am beyond delighted and honored to be guest posting today on Postcards & Pretties.  I can't tell you how much I adore Chris' blog.  And I have to tell you that she is just the absolute sweetest!  For these reasons I wanted to create something special for her and you (her lovely readers), which is why I put together a little wedding photo shoot for today's post.
Inspired by my vintage books, a library check out card that I found in one of them and the magnolia's that are in bloom right now, this is what I created under the magnolia trees..
Photo Shoot
For the escort cards I created a library check out card that has each person's name on it as well as the title and author of a book.  The book name corresponds with the table that they are seated at.  So in the picture below you can see that Wes Barkley is seated at the Cluny Brown table.
Photo Shoot

For the table I kept the decor simple...

And I had to create a little lounge area...
Photo Shoot
A perfect little spot for books and bride bingo!  I hope you enjoyed my photo shoot as much as I did creating it!  And I hope you are inspired to create some of your own details for your event...because with a couple paper elements - escort, sign in and menu cards, a handful of decorations and some amazing blooms...you can easily DIY!
~ Ciao

{p.s}
love those library cards...how about the font used?
kristi was kind enough to included a {free printable} and {font} link too. yay!!

{friday faves} rustic ladders

wow! i'm so happy it's friday...it's been a really busy week for me but luckily the weekend is here!!! yay!!

today's friday faves is all about ladders ...yes people ladders...you know the old weathered ones that might not be too sturdy that you'll probably find at your grandparent's garage or flea market. well i think they make a charming addition to any rustic outdoor wedding.

they can be used multiple ways from displaying favors and escort cards, used as a prop in photos or my favorite propped up against a tree with hanging candles...can you imagine how gorgeous that will look a night.
so let's hear it...would you use old ladders in weddings?

hope you have a great weekend!!! xo
