{style} eyewear

I’ve been wearing glasses since I was seven years old and I couldn’t for the day that my parent gave me the okay to wear contacts.  Throughout my adolescence I wouldn’t be caught dead without my contacts but in resent years I’ve returned to trusty frames.   I know that there are a lot of “four eyes” brides out there that opt out to wearing their specs on their wedding day but hopefully this post will inspire you to keep them on! So from one “four eyes” to another you look awesome with them on.  Oh yea and I threw in some groom photos as well because they look so darn cute too!

  1. I like those goldy oatmeal frames on the bottom left!

I have been wearing glasses since I was in 3rd grade, so about 8 years old. The last time they were able to measure my vision, it was 20/800. That was close to 10 years ago, and now it's so bad they can't measure it. Luckily as I have gotten older it has stabilized and it has not continued to deteriorate, although I have developed an astigmatizm. FUN!

In my early 20's I wore contacts for the first time, and I liked it, but I wasn't very good at it. I got pink eye all the time (although I didn't know that's what it was at the time, I'd just wake up with my eyes sealed shut) from sleeping in my contacts. I was so bad (as in, unskilled) at taking my contacts in and out that I would just avoid it and sleep in them for a month at a time and just throw them away. Eventually it got painful to wear them because I was developing an allergic reaction to wearing dirty lenses and my eye doctor said I probably wasn't a good candidate for contacts. (Because I am not responsible enough!!! LOL)

So I have been back to glasses for quite awhile now, and I am totally happy. I like how I look with glasses and I like that it makes me look unique. My college boyfriend flat out told me he had a "thing" for glasses and my fiance loved them, so I am happy with them. :) THey have told me I am a great candidate for Lasik, but I honestly hesitate, not just because the whole clamp your eye open thing freaks me out, but because I would miss my glasses!

  3. i think it's so cute when people who wear glasses wear them for their wedding. your groom/bride loves you for you, so why wouldn't you want to look like yourself? they're adorable.

  5. I love a bride {and groom} in their specs. I wear glasses all the time now since I can't wear contacts anymore. I wore contacts for my wedding but if I was to do it again - I would definitely be donning my glasses for the big day.

  7. The bespectacled geek in me LOVES these! I got contacts about 6 months after I got glasses (I was a ballerina, and glasses were pretty inconvenient), making me the only 7 year old with a contact lense routine. Now that I'm older, I too have come to adore my glasses-I guess it's something you grow into!

  10. I tried contacts once and HATED them so much. I'm glad that glasses have come so far- there are just so many great choices! Those clear cat eye glasses in the third photo are my favorite.

  11. The guy with the tattoos is freaking hot. The tatts, the glasses, the hair, the bow tie, the suspenders... he's goin' in the spank-bank.
