 all i have to say is move over orange pumpkins there is a new kid in town. the ever popular "symbol" of the season is going white. can you image the possibilities of these pretties in weddings...carve, stencil, paint them, scatter them with candles for some aisle decor or hollow them out and create a vase base for your centerpieces.

{shoot} corpse bride

i'm so excited to share with you this fun halloween inspired shoot by jeff from {jeff wallace photography}. if you remember this is jeff's second time on {p&p} and i'm thrilled to have him here again. i had to ask jeff where he got the inspiration to create this shoot and this is what he had to say "i got back from my honeymoon we came home to dead flowers and i thought with halloween in a few months it would be fun to do a corpse bride shoot. plus i have always been a fan of tim burton and corpse bride."

{colors} candy apple red, purple, black

{description} for this inspiration board i want to step away from the typical orange and black combo that is usually associated with halloween. i chose a richer color palette of candy apple red with hints of  purple and black. even though there is no pumpkin in sight you still get the feel of a darker but sexier halloween wedding especially when you sprinkled in some of the elements of the holiday like the spooky candy apples for you and your guests to munch as a midnight snack.

{good eats} apple butter cake

did you spot that pretty cake in yesterday's post?

 well, andrea is not only a talented photographer but she also baked the cake seen in the shoot and was kind enough to share the recipe with us. 

{apple butter cake}

2/3 cup butter
1 3/4 cup sugar
2 eggs
1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla
3 cups sifted cake flour
2 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
1 teaspoon salt
1 1/4 cups milk

cream butter. add sugar gradually, creaming till light. add eggs and vanilla and beat till fluffy. sift dry ingredients together; add to creamed mixture alternating with milk, beating after each addition. beat 1 minute. bake in 2 greased and lightly floured round pans at 350 degrees for 30 to 35 minutes. cool 10 minutes; remove from pans. let cakes cool completely.

andrea used some farmer's market apple butter between the layers & topped it off with a light dusting of powdered sugar. 

you can't forget about the cake bunting ~ andrea used fabric remnants, string and two bamboo skewers.

{shoot} vintage apple orchard

i’m so thrilled to share with you this jaw dropping shoot sent to me by andrea of {andrea dozier photography}. we “met” on facebook and i was instantly hooked on her work.

she recently collaborated with caitlin of {simply photography} for a holiday shoot for the newlyweds ashley + jimmy and their “babies” lucca and marino for a romantic picnic. one sunday morning they headed out to an apple orchard along with a few inspirations ~ my boards…yes!! andrea drew inspiration from 3 of my boards* {I still can’t believe it}. 

i love all the lovely details in this shoot, caitlin hollowed the apples to be used as mugs for the cider and since the shoot was during ashley’s birthday weekend they included a cake that andrea baked herself.

{description} it's finally starting to feel like autumn. hooray!! this it definitely my favorite time of year and it inspired me with this warm and rustic wedding board.  the woodsy browns and the hints of pale green create a cozy and comforting setting that just makes you want to snuggle up in a warm flannel blanket with your honey.

i heart sarah + mikey’s engagement session shot by carina + amanda from {love me do photography}.  they headed out to fairmount park a sweet little spot pretty close to their wedding ceremony {the couple is set to marry this weekend}. the monastery stables makes for a perfect backdrop for this sweet couple.

today’s lovely engagement shoot was captured by bonnie of {bonnie berry photography}.

katy + daniel first met at the rhode island school of design as students but only began dating when they ran into each other while they were both living in new york.  for their engagement session they headed out one sunday morning along with their basset hound obi and some props…how fun is that mask? the couple's wedding was recently featured in the knot's fall 2010 issue. you can see a preview of it {here}
